Nearly 100 years later, we Moscots still love us a balebus, but think this frame may be a more appropriate way to "identify" one.

First seen on brudes, dudes, and sisters in the 1960s, The BRUDE is subtly striking, and features detailed engraving on its bridge and temples.

Fresh off the boat from Cuba, Luis Mendoza made his mark on Orchard Street every holiday season in the 50s. Dressed in his colorful guayaberas and wrap-around frames as loud as his laugh, Luis was impossible to miss – and even harder to resist. We named The BREN for our beloved, longtime employee, Ida Wax, who worked for 40 years at MOSCOT from the 1960s through 1990s. A "Bren" incarnate, she was a firecracker of a woman charismatic and full of energy and an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her.

Sol (2nd Generation) used to sneak out for lunch at Ratners, where its manager Abe meticulously reviewed each customer’s receipt. A nod to the famed eatery’s specialty and Abe’s specs, The KUGEL combines tasteful metal edges and delightful acetate curves, bringing a whole new flavor to the Lower East Side.
